In the morning session of Day 2, we reviewed the previous day’s topics while focusing on deeply exploring the essence of Budo through hands-on experience.

The lecture began with a reflection on the spiritual philosophy of Budo, centered around the poem Yamato-kokoro (The Spirit of Yamato), passed down by the late Master Minoru Mochizuki. In terms of technique, I used Koryu Judo (traditional Judo) as an example to explain the principles of pain-free ukemi (breakfalls) utilizing gravity. I demonstrated body mechanics that allow anyone, regardless of age or physical strength, to perform these falls safely.
In the latter half of the session, we practiced Katate-ippo-ryotedori, focusing on the concept of Awase (blending/harmonizing). Participants experienced the sensation of both the Tori (executor) and Uke (receiver) sensing each other's energy and executing the technique in perfect harmony. It was a valuable opportunity for everyone to physically experience the true nature of interpersonal dynamics in Budo. After my lecture, I attended a wonderful session on Daito-ryu Aiki Jujutsu led by Luigi Carniel Sensei.
