Premium children martial arts class
What is the Chiseikan Premium Children's Martial Arts Class?
1. Build a flexible and strong body
Our Premium Children’s Martial Arts Class includes basic physical training that incorporates play elements such as ladders, jumps, and balance exercises. While the foundation of our practices are based on Aikido, we also integrate kata from Karate, grappling techniques from Judo and soft sword practices to help children train both their bodies and minds through a martial arts program that does not focus just on winning or losing.
2. By studying in a bilingual environment, your child will be able to acquire English proficiency and a global perspective.
In the Chiseikan Premium Children’s Martial Arts class, your child will be able to acquire communication skills and a global perspective by practicing in English and Japanese and interacting with people across a wide range of ages (from elementary school to adults) and foreign nationalities. For example, by talking together about questions like: "Why should I study?" and "What kind of country is Kyrgyzstan where Azamat-sensei was born?" your child will be able to naturally learn about social issues in Japan and other countries overseas, and while doing so, gain confidence in expressing their own opinions and ideas in a supportive global environment.
3. Through respect, acknowledgement, praise for each student’s individual capabilities, their confidence will naturally grow stronger.
By focusing on the unique characteristics of each student, the instructors at Chiseikan will identify and support the further development of their unique talents and capabilities across all elements of our practice. Every student has both strong points and weak points, and our instructors will help all students improve their skills based on their unique individual capabilities. As they continue their practices, they’ll be able to see their improvement and when they say “Wow, I can do this well!” their confidence and sense of accomplishment will steadily grow.
4. Improved abilities in concentration, judgment, and ambition.
Through promotion tests, your child’s concentration, judgement and aspiration levels will increase as they work to achieve these goals. Everything that is taught in Chiseikan Dojo practices and that is included in the written promotion tests is included in our class textbooks. And because we provide copies of these textbooks to all Premium Children’s Martial Arts Class students, your child can review everything that they have learned at home as well.
5. You child will learn etiquette (called “Reigi” in Japanese).
Through our regular practices at Chiseikan Dojo, your child will naturally acquire the basic etiquette related to proper greetings and replies both when sitting and standing.
Would you like to expand your child's potential at Chiseikan?
Two reasons to feel safe and satisfied at Chiseikan:
-
Our online class management system allows students to make monthly fee payments and notify teachers of their attendance and absences quickly and easily through their smartphones.
-
We maintain small class size with a maximum of 10 students per class. We provide education that develops the characteristics and good points of each child with everything we teach focused on helping each students body and mind to develop and grow.

To junior high and high school students
Do any of these apply to you?
"I want to be able to express my opinion more clearly".
"I want to do something that makes me shine."
"I want to interact with different kinds of people outside of school."
"I want to be able to do something unique"
When most people think about the martial arts, they often think that they have to be strong to start practicing. But at Chiseikan, even if you feel weak or weak at first, you will gain confidence and become stronger by practicing different techniques. Jigoro Kano, who created judo, was actually very small and weak at first, and Yoshie Sugai-sensei can apply martial arts techniques to people over 190cm tall, even though she is only 152cm. Because we have no competitions in Aikido, you will never have to compare your strength to anyone else's, so you can focus exclusively on your own improvement. And by practicing with people of different ages, genders and nationalities, your world can expand even further.
Would you like to try something new?
Two points for satisfaction & "peace of mind" at Chiseikan:
-
Our small class sizes have a maximum of 10 students per class, allowing for individualized and attentive instruction.
-

Message To Women
1. Do you want to improve yourself to be stronger and more beautiful?
2. Do you want to unlock your hidden potential?
3. Do you want to be a teacher for the rest of your life?
You've finally reached that time in your life where your children can take care of themselves, and you can focus on your own work. And you've started to have that feeling that "It's time to start something new!" Now that you're here, would you like to begin something new and can add value to the rest of your life?
Chiseikan's founder, Yoshie Sugai is her 50s and is the mother of two boys. She is actually quite short and many people have said to her "it's very hard to imagine you're a martial arts Sensei." Actually though, she has been practicing martial arts for more than 20 years, and the years have passed since I was doing martial arts. The reason why she has been able to continue her practice for so long while also playing the three roles of wife, mother, and daughter is that she can enjoy practicing with friends who have the same purpose, but different occupations, genders, ages, and nationalities, while laughing and having fun. It was actually because of this that she could strengthen her mind and body even in the most stressful times. Rather than getting more tired from teaching, she get energized she sees the strong motivation of her students to learn.
If you attend practice twice a week, you will be able to obtain your black belt in about two years where you can become a teaching assistant for children's and beginner classes.
Why don't you polish your abilities and feel energized at Chiseikan?

Message to MEn
1. Do you want to strengthen your mind and body?
2. Do you want to have a fun way to relieve stress?
3. Do you want to have a hobby that will last a lifetime?
If you're someone who thinks "I'm always busy with work. I have to do my best for my family. Even if I take a rest, I can't get rid of my tiredness, and I feel stress in my mind and body. I want to try something new, but I can't get started," why not start learning martial arts in at Chiseikan?
You will be able to see yourself differently than when you are at work or at home. By laughing with friends from different occupations, genders, ages, and nationalities, and practicing martial arts together with them, while having fun and getting stronger at the same time, you will be able to unlock new possibilities for your future.
By practicing martial arts, you can adjust the core balance of your body, and improve muscle strength by learning how to respond to attacks and apply different techniques. Our style of martial arts, is not about competing against other people, but is instead about improving your own level and capabilities. In our dojo here in Kyoto, you can experience a sense of accomplishment every time you promote to a higher belt level, and the joy of enhancing your skills while cooperating with friends who are working to achieve the same. The main focus of our martial arts practices is Aikido, which requires us to adjust techniques based on each individual, so you can continue to practice with us throughout the course of your lifetime.
We look forward to having you join us at Chiseikan!
