Nenshinryu Budo was founded by Toru Kinefuchi-sensei who was a live-in student (uchi-deshi), of Minoru Mochizuki-sensei, founder of Seifukai Aikido and Yoseikan Budo. In 2003, Chiseikan founder, Yoshie Sugai-sensei established the Aikido Club at the International University of Japan in Minami Uonuma City and invited Kinefuchi-sensei to teach there. In 2013, Yoshie Sugai-sensei opened the Iyonomaryu Aikido Kyoto Dojo, whose name was changed to Nenshinryu Budo in the Fall of 2020. In the Spring of 2021 she established the Nenshinryu Budo, Chiseikan Dojo in Nakagyo Ward in Kyoto City.
