Training Report: Practice Under Kinefuchi Shihan and a Reunion with Old Friends in Ojiya

On March 23rd and 24th, I attended training under Kinefuchi Shihan at the Ojiya Gymnasium in Niigata Prefecture. This time, Azamat Sensei, a fellow practitioner and friend of over 20 years who has trained alongside me since the beginning of our practices in Niigata, joined us from Germany, and Hoosni Sensei, another longtime friend and Aikido practitioner, came from Saitama together with his daughter to practice with us. It made for an enjoyable, deeply fulfilling, and richly layered training experience.

During practice, Kinefuchi Shihan had further developed several kata, and by revisiting basic, simple movements, I was able to notice important points that I had previously overlooked.

Kinefuchi Shihan, who constantly embodies the spirit of onko chishin - learning from the old to discover the new - and teaches through technique, together with the time spent with old friends, made this an irreplaceable and truly precious occasion.
